Power Elite
Power Elite is a concept developed by C. Wright Mills, which argues that power in modern society is concentrated in the hands of a small group of elites who occupy top positions in the military, corporate, and political spheres. These elites are interconnected and share similar backgrounds, allowing them to make decisions that shape society without broad democratic input. Mills shows that ordinary citizens have limited influence, while major policies are driven by this concentrated network of power, raising concerns about inequality and weakened democracy.
